Tabitha Sowden pieces are offered in silver or gold vermeil.

Silver:

Our silver pieces are made in 925 sterling silver.

Gold Vermeil:

Gold vermeil is a high quality gold plating on a 925 sterling silver base. You can choose either a 24K gold vermeil, or an 18K rose gold vermeil. Our plating averages between 3-5 microns. 

Care:

Wearing your chosen piece of jewellery will inevitably lead to minor surface scratches and a diminishing of its original shine.

Below is a brief explanation of how best to care for your chosen piece.

Silver:

Over time, silver will oxidise and lose its sheen. Following these simple steps will help you restore your piece to its original shine:

• Add a few drops of dishwashing liquid to a small bowl of warm water.

• Scrub your piece of jewellery with an old toothbrush to get into the nooks and crannies.

• Dry it well and buff it up with a soft cloth.

• You can also use shop-bought silver cleaning products or cloths.

Gold Vermeil:

Gold vermeil is a high quality gold plating on a 925 sterling silver base.

The following simple precautions will help you best care for your gold vermeil jewellery:

• Avoid contact with water (showers, washing up) and especially salty or chlorinated water (sea and swimming pools). 

• Remove during sport activities to minimise contact with sweat.

• Remove when using chemicals or cleaning products.

• Remove when using body care products (creams, oils, make-up, or hairspray).

• Use a soft cloth to clean it (you can also use a shop-bought gold polishing cloth).

• Store in a cool, dry environment, away from direct sunlight.

This does not mean that you cannot fully enjoy the beauty of your chosen piece! With a little care and attention, it will last a long time. 

And remember that, if necessary, it can always be replated.

We offer this service, for a fee, but depending on where you live, it may be more cost effective to have this done by a local jeweller.
